David W. Hessler’s aviation expertise results from over 20 years of operational experiences involving piloting, flight and ground instruction, aircraft accident investigation, aircraft maintenance, and other various aviation-related activities. A recognized authority on Flight Operations, David W. Hessler has administered aviation information relating to Piloting Activities, Federal Aviation Regulations, and the National Airspace System. Currently, Mr. Hessler serves as a Federal Aviation Administration-designated Aviation Instructor and actively participates in the piloting and maintenance of general aviation aircraft.  As Senior Vice President of Aerosafe, Mr. Hessler specializes in aircraft accident operational reconstruction, pilot operations, and aircraft systems evaluation.  He has participated in over 400 aircraft accident operational reconstructions with primary focus on pilot operations. 

Mr. Hessler has designed, developed, and received approval by the Federal Aviation Administration for a micro-camera installation for certificated aircraft. This system has been utilized to document various aircraft configurations, attitudes, and reactions to pilot handling for education and litigation purposes. Current projects include development of a Primary Category maintenance program for Federal Aviation Administration Approval, and membership with the technical advisory committee for the Bolton Field future business plan.  Mr. Hessler is also President of Hessler Aviation Services, Inc., a company specializing in aerial advertising and flight instruction.  

As an Aviation Instructor, Mr. Hessler has expertise in areas associated with piloting, teaching, and maintaining aircraft.  An Adjunct Instructor at Columbus State Community College, Mr. Hessler teaches aircraft and powerplant maintenance courses, and has participated in the restructuring of the aviation maintenance technology curriculum.  He has also served as a guest lecturer on subjects associated with aircraft accident investigation for the Department of Aviation, College of Engineering, at The Ohio State University and at Ohio University.
